Sanctuary Personnel, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency with a TrustPilot score of 4.9/5 and nearly 1000 reviews, is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Rotational Clinical Pharmacist to work in Louth on a full-time basis.
The salary for this permanent Rotational Clinical Pharmacist job is £35,392 - £42,618 per annum.
Main Duties:
* Ensure a high standard of patient-focused care in line with Clinical Governance principles.
* Ensure compliance with Medicines Management, Controls Assurance Policies, and Treatment Protocols.
* Investigate patients' drug histories, including assessing patients' own medications (POD) for re-use.
* Review prescriptions for legality, clarity, clinical accuracy, and suitability for the patient.
* Monitor the clinical use of drugs in patients, reporting prescribing and administration near misses and risk management issues.
* Provide timely medication supplies to patients in collaboration with nurses, medical staff, the ward Pharmacy Technician, and Dispensary staff.
* Devise and monitor the storage of medicines on wards to ensure potency, security, and quality.
* Provide medicines information to prescribers, nurses/midwives, other healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
* Offer advice to patients and carers to improve adherence to medication regimens and assess the need for compliance aids.
* Prioritise own workload and, when necessary, that of other Pharmacy staff to meet patient and service needs.
* Participate in a rotational training programme to gain broad experience in Clinical Pharmacy.
Requirements of the Rotational Clinical Pharmacist:
* Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
* Completion of a 1-year pre-registration training program
* Active registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Proven experience in clinical pharmacy within a hospital environment
* Background in providing medicines information
* Demonstrated commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Proficiency in using pharmacy computer systems
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Effective time management and prioritization abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Accurate dispensing and checking skills, with a strong adherence to procedures
* Self-awareness of limitations and the ability to seek advice when necessary
* Ability to demonstrate key values and behaviors in alignment with the Trust framework
