Join us as a Nuclear Security Assessment Engineer as part of our Nuclear Services business. Nuclear Services is our technical centre of excellence, supporting our existing fleet of nuclear power stations and our nuclear new build projects.
Our Nuclear Security Design Branch provides integrated security design services for our nuclear licensees and other key customers. As the design authority for physical security, the branch plays a critical role in assessing and mitigating risks related to sabotage, theft vulnerabilities, and physical protection systems. This includes ensuring the integration of cyber and personnel security.
In this role, you will deliver technical assessments and support the Security Protected Plant Identification (SPPI) process and subsequent Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVA). Your focus will include:
1. Preparing detailed Security Protected Plant Identification Files (SPPIF) and Engineering Advice Notices (EAN) to guide security planning and implementation.
2. Conducting site-based analysis, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the delivery of program milestones on time and within budget.
3. Supporting the Security Protected Plant Fleet Manager, providing continuity and oversight across various sites.
4. Analysing and responding to emerging security risks, ensuring proactive and integrated security responses.
5. Contributing to lessons learned and operational experience (OPEX) to improve future security initiatives.
6. Maintaining detailed documentation to ensure clarity of processes and outcomes.
You hold a HNC or equivalent experience in security, risk management, or program management disciplines. You excel in producing technical documentation and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Your knowledge spans physical, personnel, and cyber security systems, and you're comfortable integrating them into comprehensive solutions. You are a strong communicator and adept at managing diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of UK Nuclear Security Regulations and an understanding of nuclear power plant design is a plus.

We can offer a competitive salary from £44,112 - £78,541 (dependent on experience) and you'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Company Agreements as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.
