We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Building team in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. This role will act as a key member of the commercial team, providing support with package procurement and cost control to ensure the financial position of the project is accurately reported. This is a site-based role working on a major public sector building project in Huntingdon.
What you'll do:
* Assist with preparation, maintenance and agreement of project accounts.
* Assist with providing commercial and financial reporting information.
* Ensure compliance with Skanska standards and procedures in respect of commercial activities.
* Subcontract procurement and management.
* Assist with control of project documentation.
* Record and assist with management of change.
* Assist with timely detailed reporting to Senior Project Surveyor / Commercial Manager.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Experience working on medium to large building projects.
* BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction related subject, preferably qualified to ICES or RICS accreditation.
* Have working knowledge of one or more forms of construction contracts i.e. JCT, NEC, Bespoke.
* Self-motivated and confident, financially astute with good communication skills.
Security Clearance:
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
