Responsible for: HSEQ support at specified operations

Job Summary
The role sits within the Corporate Stewardship team (CS team), which has overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements associated with our site permits and our Integrated Management System; and are custodians of the sustainability aspirations of the company through our Environmental Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) commitments.
In your role as an HSEQ coordinator, you will be working within the HSEQ Team to promote and support the operational functions maintain high standards of safety, general health and environmental compliance.
Your knowledge will also contribute to our HSEQ reporting through the detailed and meaningful data collected for our compliance report; and in providing HSEQ data to support commercial bids for new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively support and embed a proactive safety culture through positive engagement on site and throughout Augean’s activities.
* To provide HSEQ support and advice to the business operations as specified by the Group Head of HSEQ to ensure compliance and standards are maintained; and promote procedural changes to align with good, safe working practices.
* To assist operational teams develop risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* To carry out and assist with HSEQ inspections and audit against IMS procedures for the business.
* Carry out scheduled audits (internal and duty of care).
* To update statistical information on incidents, accidents and NCRs.
* Take minutes of meetings.
* To assist with accident investigations.
* To create and deliver presentations.
* To assist with external audits and helping Augean to maintain required certification and accreditation.
* To assist in the development of safety and compliance competency of operational teams.
* Assist with close-out of HSEQ queries from both internal (i.e. Augean) and external (i.e. stakeholder) sources.
* Assist in proactive management of regulatory issues and the preparation of effective and timely responses to regulatory queries and inspections.
* Assist with onsite training and toolbox talks to Augean staff, contractors and customers as required.
* Assist with reporting on daily incident reporting identifying unsafe acts and conditions and safe acts / good practice for health and safety, environmental and quality issues.
* Assist with delivering HSEQ campaign programmes.
* Support site employees in their interaction with EcoOnline, the Company reporting software system.
* Act as the local Document Controller to ensure correct upkeep of all relevant HSEQ documents and systems.
* To undertake all duties with due regard to health, safety and environment.
* Always uphold and demonstrate the company values and behaviours and actively promote these with Group colleagues, with customers and with external stakeholders.
* Support the generation, maintenance and accurate reporting of HSEQ statistics and data.
* Any other reasonable duties as and when required.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Must be able to comply with HM Government security clearance criteria.
* Articulate and able to write clearly and concisely using factual based observation.
* NEBOSH National Certificate (Occupational H&S) advantageous.
* 2 Years experience in a HSEQ role.
* Internal auditor in ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 standards would be advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel to our sites across England and Scotland and access to a vehicle.

You should have at least two years’ experience in a similar role and a chemistry background is advantageous.
You’re likely to have experience of working within an industrial sector in a role that delivers HSEQ experience. An understanding of the health & safety requirements and compliance for working in the hazardous waste sector is desirable.
You must be an effective communicator, able to prioritise tasks and workloads, you’ll be capable talking directly to and influencing site managers and operatives to ensure compliance.
