Full and part time Female Support Workers needed INDSUE Location: Solihull Job Type: Full time, 6 - 42 hours per week Contract Type : Permanent Salary: £17.50 - £18.50 per hour To provide support on a permanent basis to a teenage girl with cerebral palsy in Solihull. Applicants must be female due to the personal care required by the client and must be able to drive the clients wheelchair accessible vehicle whilst on duty. Our client needs support and hands on assistance with all aspects of her personal care, feeding and mobility. She needs support with accessing activities and wants a pro-active support worker who can plan and organise fun social activities and support her to join in with these. In school she has 1:1 support with all classrooms based activity. She enjoys activities such as films, messy play, sensory and craft activities and being out and about at events. She also enjoys spending time with her younger siblings and extended family at home. Our client is generally a happy young lady who enjoys pampering sessions and likes her support worker to have a good sense of humour and a bubbly personality to help motivate her and keep her enthusiastic. The role will require support staff to be physically active and alert to any risk or dangers whilst working 1:1 with our client. Previous experience supporting children or adults after brain injury and/or with additional learning needs would be preferred. Hours of work The role offered can be a full time position working 42 hours/week (week 1) and 28 hours per week (week 2) average 35 hours per week or taken as part time hours. The hours of support needed are: Monday and Tuesday 09:00-15:00 supporting the client 1:1 at school in South Birmingham (term time) or home in Solihull (non-term time). Saturday and Sunday (every other weekend) 09:00-16:00 supporting at home and in the community with care and social activities. Four evenings a week (flexible days) 4pm-8pm at home or in the community supporting with care and social activities. Rates of pay £17.50 per hour weekdays £18.50 per hour weekends Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
