Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for an EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school in Manchester. This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic, empathetic, and eager to support EAL students in their journey towards academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and group support to EAL students in their English language acquisition.
* Assist classroom teachers in differentiating lessons and resources to meet the needs of EAL students.
* Support students with tasks that improve their English language skills, both written and spoken.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and encouragement.
* Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and confidence for all students.
* Help students to integrate fully into school life, offering pastoral support as necessary.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting (EAL experience preferred).
* A passion for education and helping students succeed.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to student development.
* A commitment to supporting the needs of students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
Desirable:
* Knowledge or experience of working with secondary-aged EAL students.
* Fluency in another language is a bonus but not required.
