Job Description:
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Adult Health Services Unit. We are looking for a Band 3 Higher Clerical Officer to assist and facilitate with the Medicines Management processes within the health centre at HMP Shotts. You will provide comprehensive Administrative and Clerical support to clinical and non-clinical staff in order to ensure the smooth running of the service. Where appropriate, supervise clerical staff and provide support to line manager.
* To work professionally with the healthcare staff to ensure medication is sorted and distributed to patients timeously.
* To order new medications from pharmacy as prescribed.
* To contact pharmacy to amend/cancel orders as necessary.
* Check medications received, update system.
* Alert pharmacy of any issues, queries or missing medications.
What we'll need you to bring
* Minimum of 2 years work experience in an Administrative and Clerical role.
* Educated to Higher Grade level.
* Ability to supervise staff.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills in customer care.
* Demonstrable IT skills including ability to work with Microsoft Word & Excel.
* Good organisational and planning skills.
* Understanding of a range of procedures and processes.
* Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure.
* Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are maintained at all times.
Contract type
Permanent, Full time, 37 hours Per week Monday to Friday
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Pharmacy within HMP Shotts. The working pattern for this role will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
