The Accounts Clerk is responsible for supporting the financial administration of Crich Medical Practice. This includes processing invoices, managing payments, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the smooth running of financial operations.

o Process supplier invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
o Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
o Manage petty cash.
o Prepare and submit claims for NHS reimbursements.
o Assist with bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.

Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Transactions & Record-Keeping:

2. Reporting & Budgeting:
o Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and year-end accounts.
o Support budget management by providing financial data to the Practice Manager and GP partners.
o Liaise with external accountants regarding VAT, year-end accounts, and queries.
3. Compliance & Administration:
o Ensure financial procedures comply with NHS and HMRC regulations.
o Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
o Respond to financial queries from staff, suppliers, and other organizations.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English A-C.
* Experience in finance, bookkeeping, or accounting (preferably in a healthcare setting).
* Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong numerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* AAT qualification or working towards an accounting qualification.
* Previous experience in an NHS or GP practice finance role.
