As Deputy Divisional Director, you will lead the planning, management, and development of a portfolio of top-notch services, championing the modernisation and enhancement of patient care in conjunction with the wider multi-disciplinary team. Main duties of the job
This role demands dynamic leadership, cultivating excellence in recruitment, staff retention, teamwork, and active staff participation in decision-making. Financial accountability is crucial, as the post holder is responsible for meeting income and expenditure targets, optimising service delivery and profitability through effective contract management, and ensuring swift action for income recovery. You will also spearhead efficiency and savings initiatives within your portfolio of services.
Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance hospital services, leading and mentoring the multidisciplinary team to achieve clinical and operational goals, driving quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Knowledge and Experience
* Evidence of managing complex services (incl. theatres, medical and surgical specialties) and leading capacity planning, performance management (incl. knowledge of local and national performance delivery frameworks), capital schemes and strategic plans.
* Evidence of leading the planning and delivery of clinical activity against contracted volumes and managing significant clinical budgets (£40m+ 100+ bed base).
* Evidence of handling complex workforce issues, including disciplinary processes and chairing panels.
* Evidence of understanding and improving clinical pathways (including issues affecting patient flow), and leading transformation projects.
* Evidence of working with acute/community providers and commissioners, understanding new commissioning landscapes.
* Evidence of leading business continuity processes.
* Evidence of managing procurement and non-pay related matters.
Qualifications and Training
* Educated to Masters level (ideally in healthcare management) or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of commitment to continuing professional and leadership development.
