Working in partnership with Tier 1 contractors, they specialise in bridges, highways, rail, water, and large-scale industrial developments, providing full project lifecycle delivery from pre-construction to completion. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Document Controller to support multiple infrastructure projects across the Midlands, spanning Coventry to Buckingham. The Role – Document Controller An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Document Controller to play a critical role in managing project documentation across multiple sites, supporting key civil engineering and infrastructure schemes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate document control, compliance with industry regulations, and supporting seamless information flow between site teams, engineers, and project managers. This role offers hybrid working, providing flexibility while ensuring full engagement with project teams. Experience using COINS document management software is highly desirable, alongside familiarity with other construction document control platforms. Key Responsibilities Oversee the management, distribution, and control of all project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards Maintain up-to-date records of drawings, specifications, reports, RFIs, technical documents, and approvals Ensure document control processes align with ISO standards, client requirements, and internal procedures Support project teams, engineers, and site managers, ensuring real-time access to current and archived documentation Manage revisions, approvals, and document workflows, ensuring accurate version control Liaise with external stakeholders, including Tier 1 contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure smooth document exchange Set up and maintain document control systems, ideally using COINS, Viewpoint, Aconex, Asite, or similar platforms Generate reports on document status, outstanding approvals, and compliance records Ensure health & safety documentation is up to date and easily accessible for relevant personnel Provide administrative support to project teams, ensuring smooth operational workflow across sites Key Requirements Previous experience as a Document Controller in construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects Experience using COINS document management software (highly desirable) Familiarity with document control systems such as Viewpoint, Aconex, or Asite Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in document handling Knowledge of ISO standards and construction compliance requirements Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, site teams, and senior management Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to prioritise workload and meet project deadlines Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders What’s on Offer Hybrid working options available, providing flexibility and work-life balance Projects spanning the Midlands, covering sites from Coventry to Buckingham Secure employment with a respected £200m turnover civil engineering subcontractor Competitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000 package Career development and training opportunities within a growing infrastructure business 25 days holiday plus paid charity days Pension scheme and private healthcare Structured career progression within a company delivering major UK infrastructure projects How to Apply If you are an experienced Document Controller with a background in construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects, and experience using COINS or other document management software, this is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor and play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects across the Midlands.
