We are looking for confident, flexible and nurturing Residential Childcare workers to join our experienced and committed staff team. The work provides opportunities to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in our care by building lasting relationships and contributing to meaningful care and support plans.
In line with The Promise, GIRFEC, The Child Poverty Strategy and Children's right to family life, Falkirk Council residential staff work closely with the Intensive Family Support Service staff on an outreach basis. The focus of this intervention is to support families at times of crisis and prevent a child being accommodated away from home or alternatively support an estranged child's return to live in the family home. This element of work is also based on relationship and trauma informed practice with the desired outcome of the child living in a safe and caring environment.
We recognise the importance of regular professional supervision and provide significant training and development opportunities to our staff within Falkirk Council.
Staff are required to be able to register unconditionally with SSSC, however we may consider applicants without required qualifications who are willing to work towards gaining the qualifications within set time scales.
Successful candidates will be required to obtain PVG Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland.
You must have the ability to be mobile across the Council area
Staff will work across both residential homes on a flexible rota basis include weekends, public holidays, evenings and nights.
