Head of QEHS (Quality, Environment, Health & Safety) Hybrid/ Nationally Mobile £70,000 - £80,000 car allowance bonus excellent benefits A leading multi-site operational business with a presence across the Midlands, Home Counties and South West, is seeking an experienced Head of QEHS to join their senior leadership team. This pivotal role oversees the full spectrum of compliance, encompassing operational safety, quality, data compliance, ISO standards, environmental management, and occupational health. With national responsibility, the successful candidate will manage a dedicated compliance team and regularly travel across sites to drive excellence in compliance standards. Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies for corporate governance, compliance, quality, health, safety, and environmental management across the organization. Drive initiatives to foster a strong culture of safety and compliance, embedding these principles into the organization's operations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and retention of certifications, permits, and licenses. Oversee the management and continual improvement of the Business Management System, ensuring alignment with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards. Provide leadership in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and enterprise risks, delivering insightful analysis to management teams on compliance actions and resolutions. Lead and develop a high-performing national compliance and EHS team, setting clear goals, mentoring staff, and ensuring the team delivers the necessary support to the business. Provide expert advice to bridge compliance gaps in operations, ensuring policies and procedures are user-friendly and enable safe, compliant, and efficient working practices. Requirements: Demonstrable experience in managing compliance, safety, environmental, and quality functions within complex, multi-site operational businesses. A proven track record of leading, mentoring, and inspiring teams to achieve strategic objectives, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and proven ability to build productive relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors. Experience in manufacturing, processing plants, or other technical plant operational businesses in a regulated environment would be highly beneficial. Suitably qualified, holding certifications or qualifications such as NEBOSH, IEMA, Lead Auditor, and relevant degree in a related discipline. Ability to navigate complex challenges, foresee external developments affecting the business, and adapt compliance strategies to remain ahead of industry trends.
