Electrical Project Engineer – Southern Water (Otterbourne WSW) Location: Winchester Company: Tier 1 MEICA & Civil Engineering Contractor Industry: Clean & Wastewater Projects (Kent & Sussex) About the Role: An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Project Engineer to support high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical works at a Water Supply Works (WSW). This role involves managing HV/LV transformers, distribution and switching equipment, LV generators, and associated switchgear while coordinating contractors, designers, and programming activities. Candidates with strong electrical engineering experience from outside the water industry will be considered, although prior exposure to Southern Water systems and standards is preferred. Key Responsibilities: Oversee HV/LV electrical works, ensuring compliance with design and project scope. Manage contractors and designers, ensuring smooth coordination of works. Review method statements, interrogate designs, and validate scopes of work. Ensure project programme compliance, working closely with planning teams. Develop and maintain client relationships, liaising with key stakeholders. Work with the commercial team for periodic financial reviews of electrical projects. Identify and report on project risks and required changes. Ensure safe and effective electrical project designs, meeting regulatory requirements. Supervise specialist electrical subcontractors and supply chain partners. Oversee electrical assets before client handover. Provide progress reports to management and key stakeholders. Maintain quality and safety standards across all electrical installations. Qualifications & Experience Required: Background in Electrical Engineering, with relevant academic qualifications. Experience in a project engineering role within water, process, or heavy engineering. Knowledge of Southern Water systems and standards is advantageous.
