About the role:
Long-Term Teachers is seeking qualified teachers, cover supervisors and higher level teaching assistants (HLTAs) to join our supply team for special needs schools across Devon. With a growing demand from local special needs schools, we are offering a variety of opportunities for day-to-day cover or longer-term placements to support children with diverse learning needs.
As a cover supervisor, you will have the opportunity to work in unique and rewarding educational settings, catering to children with special educational needs (SEN). This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Careers Teachers (ECT’s) who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of SEN students.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver adapted lessons: Provide engaging and tailored lessons in various SEN settings, based on the needs of the students. Lessons will be pre-planned by the classroom teacher
* Support behaviour management: Create safe and supportive learning environment, ensuring positive behaviour management
* Assessment and feedback: Monitor and assess student progress, offering feedback that supports individual learning goals
* Effective communication: Work closely with other staff members to deliver consistent and effective education and learning environment

* SEN experience: Knowledge or experience working with students with special educational needs
* Curriculum knowledge: Strong understanding of how to adapt the curriculum for SEN, especially across the core subjects
