Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school in Fareham who are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of Geography to join their thriving secondary school in Fareham on a temporary full-time basis to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional who places students at the heart of their teaching and is dedicated to delivering engaging, high-quality lessons.
The successful candidate will join a supportive and well-established Geography Department and will be responsible for delivering lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 if appropriate. We are looking for an individual who can inspire, challenge, and motivate students to develop their geographical knowledge and skills while fostering a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage and challenge students.
2. Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring all students make progress and achieve their full potential.
3. Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.
4. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
5. Create a positive and stimulating learning environment where students feel encouraged to question, explore, and think critically.
6. Contribute to the development of curriculum planning and resources within the department.
7. Foster a culture of high expectations, promoting engagement and achievement among students.
8. Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
9. Maintain excellent classroom management and uphold the school's behaviour policies.
10. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student success.
11. Participate in extra-curricular activities, including field trips, clubs, and enrichment opportunities, to enhance students' understanding of Geography.
12. Uphold the highest professional standards and demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Geography teacher who meets the following criteria:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and eligibility to work in the UK.
2. A degree in Geography or a related subject.
3. Proven ability to deliver outstanding teaching and facilitate student progress.
4. A student-centred approach, ensuring that all learners are supported and challenged.
5. Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and assessment requirements.
6. The ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a love for the subject.
7. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
