Somerdale Educate Together Primary Academy has a vacancy for a play worker to work in our Breakfast and Afterschool Club 2 days per week. We are looking to recruit a caring, motivated individual to join our happy team in the school Breakfast and Afterschool Club. This person will support, facilitate and encourage safe and productive play and interaction to ensure the safety, general welfare and proper conduct of children during this period.The salary for this role is NJC SCP02 which is currently £12.26 per hour. The post is part time 2 days per week ( term time only ) which can either be Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday. The hours of work are 7.30am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 5.45pm ( 9.5 hours per week) and the actual salary for these hours will be £5,311pa. We are looking for a playworker to:
Support the planning and preparation of a range of fun, play activities for children aged from pre-school - year 5.
Plan and supervise play activities in the Breakfast and After School Club to ensure pupils are active, make choices and learn to play, supported by a responsive and adaptable approach to their play.
Assist children to play in a safe, creative and exciting manner, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and equipment
