Amazon EU Customer Fulfilment Operations is seeking a Senior Content Strategist to join the Learning & Development (L&D) team. In this role, you will design and execute a strategic and innovative training and internal communications content strategy.
The ideal candidate will have a hands-on, data-driven approach to creating clear, measurable content with definable outcomes. You will have a diverse background in publishing, editing, communications, and marketing, with a strong focus on educational content development, adult learning theories, and behavioral science principles. We are looking for a professional who insists on the highest standards, dives deep into details, has a strong bias for action, and can manage competing priorities. The role would suit a detail-oriented people person with a passion for problem-solving and writing. You will keep composure in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity and changing tides, be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues, anticipate employee questions/reactions, and quickly prepare thorough messaging strategies. To be successful in this role you will need excellent communication skills, a high bar for clear and actionable writing, ability to look around corners, work independently, and a talent for effective collaboration across diverse audiences.
This position can be based in either UK: London, Manchester, Peterborough, ES: Madrid or PL: Wroclaw. Travel required for 20% time.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Establish and implement a comprehensive optimization and maintenance process for 4K+ training assets.
2. Lead word reduction initiatives to improve content clarity.
3. Apply behavioral science principles to rewrite and enhance training materials created by technical experts.
4. Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop and implement content strategies that improve the educational effectiveness of training materials.
5. Mentor and guide content creators of varying writing experience to improve their skills in concise, educational writing.
6. Create style guides and best practices for content creation within the organization.
7. Make data-driven decisions: analyze quantitative and qualitative data to refine your content approach and enhance the effectiveness and impact of learning programs across the organization.
8. Develop tailored internal communications plans and content to engage Amazon's employees globally at various seniority levels.
9. Advocate for the learner experience, raising the bar through passion for internal communications, willingness to take risks, and impeccable judgment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- 2+ years of experience in content strategy, internal communications, publishing, or editorial roles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree
- Experience in program or project management
- Proven track record in developing and implementing content strategies for educational purposes
