We invite enthusiastic and forward thinking applications for this Healthcare Support Worker post within the community nursing in the Stranraer area of Dumfries and Galloway.
The successful applicant will have experience of delivering person centred care and have an interest in providing palliative care at home as well as venepuncture, simple dressings and other care provision both alongside a registered nurse and as a lone worker.
The applicant will also require to hold an SVQ Level 3 or HNC Level 7 qualification relevant to this role.
The service is a 24/7 service so we are looking for someone who is able to work varying shifts lengths and times, including night shift. The post requires a lot of driving, especially overnight where the post holder will work with a registered nurse covering the whole of Wigtownshire. The post is based in Waverley Medical Centre in Stranraer. The Rhins community nursing team covers a wide geographic area including the town of Stranraer and rural outlying communities such as Drummore, Portpatrick and Glenluce.
Community care is undergoing transformation in Dumfries and Galloway and community nursing will sit within the newly developed Home Teams with other professions.
Experience in a Healthcare Support Worker role would be an advantage.
This post may involve clinic and home visits in remote and rural areas therefore a current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
