The Role:
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have an exciting opportunity available within the People and Organisational Development Directorate for aHR Manager with a specific focus on Policy and Reward, including Pensions.
Working as part of the newly created internal HR Team and reporting to the HR Business Partner, your responsibilities will include providing expert guidance, delivery and support of high quality, comprehensive and effective HR Services to customers and colleagues within a framework of best practice, HIWFRS Policy and employment law. You will play a lead role and be the subject matter expert in delivering and supporting key projects on Policy and Reward as well as providing advice on complex issues. This will include Job Evaluation, Pay Awards and projects, employee benefits, policy development and/or reviews, as well as being the lead contact for Pensions within HIWFRS.You will provide leadership and guidance to allocated Senior HR Advisors /HR Advisers and/or Assistant HR Advisers. You will contribute to the development of HR training for managers and employees and be involved in the delivery of this.
You'll possess CIPD Level 7 or relevant HR experience and will have excellent communication skills at all levels. You'll have a good knowledge of employment law and practice as well as experience of working in the Policy, Reward and Pension arena. Experience within or an understanding of Fire and Rescue Services would be desirable as would a knowledge of the Local Government and/or Firefighters' Pensions Schemes.
This role is based at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service HQ in Eastleigh, but there will be a requirement to travel to Fire Stations within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight as required. All HR roles are required to provide some out of hours support and could require some attendance at evening meetings, covered by flexitime.
