We are looking for a Research Technician to join the Department of Respiratory Sciences to conduct experimental (in vivo and in vitro) work in the Cooper Laboratory. In this varied role you will carry out specific laboratory-based experiments on research projects investigating the immunological basis of immunity to tuberculosis and on human immune responses. You will prepare for and conduct defined experiments, record data and present findings accurately using the scientific method and under guidance from the investigators. About you To be a successful candidate you will have general education to A level standard/NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) alongside a good working knowledge of both Health and Safety regulations and good laboratory practice and safety issues. We are looking for an individual with a good understanding of the scientific method and prior technical work experience in immunological methods and use of sterile technique. The ideal candidate will possess hands on experience with animals and animal models as well as the ability to work with human cells.
