We are looking for a motivated and conscientious Conveyancing Assistant to join our busy conveyancing team based at either of our offices in Durham or Darlington.
Our staff are a fundamental part of the service which we provide here at Freeman Johnson. We are therefore keen to hear from anyone who recognises the value of customer care and providing a good service to our clients.
The Role
We require a Conveyancing Assistant to work in our Conveyancing team assisting all of our fee earners at our offices in Durham, Darlington and Northallerton. This is a full-time position working between 9.00am- 5.00pm Monday to Friday, although we may consider part-time applications, and involving all administrative support including:
1. Providing efficient support to Partners/Fee Earners;
2. Providing quotations to clients;
3. Opening new files utilising a case management system to produce documents including forms, letters, attendance notes, applications etc.;
4. Dealing with Land Registry applications;
5. Liaising directly with clients and other professionals;
6. Making appointments and managing diaries;
7. Assisting with post, photocopying, scanning, filing and file management;
8. Undertaking administrative tasks including document sorting and paying disbursements;
9. Undertaking typing work and assisting with preparation of letters and any further conveyancing work on files.
Requirements
You will be highly organised and enthusiastic with the ability to multitask and be able to work as part of a team and independently. You should be comfortable working under pressure, be able to work efficiently and accurately and be confident, professional and courteous when dealing with clients. You should have initiative and be able to prioritise various tasks as and when needed.
Confidence in dealing with clients or customers is essential, as is previous experience working in a law firm and in particular a conveyancing department. Knowledge of a digital dictation service and a case management system would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be offered to the successful applicant.
