Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Project Engineer to manage and deliver key projects on a top-tier COMAH facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated professional with expertise in C&I systems, project management, and engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE): Ensure all HSSE policies are implemented, fostering a strong safety culture in project environments.
2. Obsolescence Program Management: Oversee the upgrade and replacement of critical C&I systems, including PLCs, Integrated Control Systems, field instrumentation, and gas analysis/metering systems.
3. Project Feasibility and Design: Develop conceptual designs, budgets, and project schedules for feasibility studies and lead subsequent engineering design phases.
4. Functional Safety: Lead Functional Safety aspects, including impact assessments, FS plans, verification, validation, and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments.
5. Procurement and Construction Management: Oversee procurement and construction phases, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
6. Management of Change (MOC): Act as the “Responsible Person” for engineering changes, adhering to MOC procedures and managing project documentation.
7. ATEX Compliance: Ensure designs and installations comply with ATEX standards for explosive atmospheres (IEC 60079-14).
8. Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance C&I system reliability and performance across the site.
9. Maintenance Support: Provide engineering expertise to improve field instrumentation and system reliability.
10. Vendor Management: Conduct performance reviews of vendors, oversee Factory Acceptance Tests, and manage contracts as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in a relevant discipline or HNC/HND with extensive experience.
Ideally, 10+ years’ experience in C&I project engineering.
Proven expertise in managing projects within a COMAH facility.
Strong knowledge of Functional Safety, ATEX standards, and project lifecycle management.
