Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, with a focus on promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those we support.
Duties
1. Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
2. Provide medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
3. Offer emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
4. Engage in activities that promote physical and mental stimulation for clients, including recreational activities.
5. Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
6. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
7. Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
8. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for both clients and staff.
9. Provide specialised care for individuals with conditions such as dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Experience
1. Previous experience in a caregiving role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
2. Skills in first aid and medication administration are highly desirable.
3. Experience in childcare or assisted living environments is an advantage.
4. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate client transport needs.
5. A compassionate approach to care with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
