Lincolnshire Field Products is a grower and packer of Vegetables (mainly Brassicas) to the High Street retailers and food processors. We are seeking a reliable and methodical Quality Controller (Booking In)to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position involves conducting thorough inspections, analysing processes, and implementing quality assurance measures to uphold our commitment to excellence.
Based at our Fresh Produce factory at Wykeham, nr Spalding, this is a full time and permanent position.
Working Tuesday to Saturday each week.
Hours of work will be 08.30 - 17.00 each day. Hours on Saturday may be flexible to meet the operational needs of the business.
Candidates should have their own transport to our premises as there is no public transport available.
Candidates should be aware that the role will involve working outdoors for a proportion of the working time as lorries and tractors deliver product to our premises.
Full training will be provided on our systems and processes.
Responsibilities
Ensure that incoming product meets the necessary specification/legal requirements and that any associated problems are reported to the relevant personnel.
Produce Quality Control Intake reports for all incoming produce and feedback relevant information to the appropriate departments.
Conduct checks on all Third Party Pre-packed products and feedback information to relevant personnel.
Ensure that all incoming product is correctly labelled for traceability purposes i.e. intake date, reference number, country of origin and supplier name and the consignments match the specified orders.
Complete all relevant documentation specifically required for the supply and packing of Organic produce.
Ensure all personnel comply with LFP site regulations.
Check and record probe calibration verification and report all out of specification results for both finished and raw material
Complete quality assessment sheets in line with customer specifications for both finished and raw material.
Check all labels/packaging for accuracy against the retail/detail sheet or sample labels held on file.
Conduct checks on all scales daily and ensure that any broken or out of specification sets are taken to the appropriate area and reported to the relevant personnel.
Collaborate with production and technical teams to develop and implement quality control procedures.
Monitor adherence to safety regulations and quality guidelines throughout the manufacturing process.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.
Assist the Technical team with due diligence requirements.
Experience
Experience in a quality assurance or auditing role, preferably within a manufacturing or food production environment.
An understanding of HACCP principles and their application in quality management systems.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen attention to detail.
