LEAD QUALITY ENGINEER
LONDON (33 OLD BROAD ST) – HYBRID
6 MONTH CONTRACT
INSIDE IR35 MAX £650 PD
Leads the test scope and delivery for a large sized programme of high complexity, typically Platinum/Gold, or across a Change portfolio for a business area. Manages large test teams and sub-teams across multiple sites. Typical test activities includes test resourcing needs, defining the overall project test strategy, project plans, monitoring and reporting to project stakeholders. Responsible for ensuring test delivery is within budget, quality and time objectives. May play a specialist role within the test team, such as Environments management, Test Data Management, Release Management, Operational Planning, Change Request Management, etc. Roles at grade F will report into grade G or above.
Key Accountabilities:
* Business Context and Knowledge: Understands the overall programme benefits. Assess how the proposed solution meets the benefits and its impact on the organisation, colleagues and customers. Has visibility of other programmes in other divisions and assess impact on current change portfolio. Understands how a protracted programme implementation may impact negatively on the business resources assigned to testing (e.g... time away from base location) and plans to minimise this.
* Analysis and Design: Interfaces with Group IT to understand release schedule, platform availability and any issues that could impact testing delivery. Works across the Group to ensure that cross‐programme dependencies are identified and managed.
* Estimation and Planning: Provides specialist input to programme delivery roadmap articulating and managing the impact of testing across a number of complex projects/ workstreams and multiple code releases. Oversees testing budget. Creates and maintains demand/supply for test resource and negotiates where demand outweighs supply.
* Execution: Leads large scale testing programmes which incorporate change across divisions with high levels of complexity. Manages the testing capability as a virtual team across multiple locations ensuring this does not impact time or quality Identifies and manages testing dependencies with external projects and programmes within own business unit, Division and Group.
* Quality Control: Ensures that all testing adheres to industry standards and challenges where appropriate across divisions and Group. Implements a division-wide programme testing control framework to ensure a standardised testing methodology, test and requirement traceability and project governance process exists.
* Communication and Reporting: Attends senior meetings including Steering groups. Represents testing at division and group governance committees across the portfolio. Builds strong relationships with IT & partners to ensure a collaborative approach to testing.
* Stakeholder Management: Builds and maintains external and internal networks to identify best practice and to build the profile of the Business Testing community
* People & Self Development: Leads, motivates and develops team members to create a high performing team. Contributes to the development and performance of the wider business analyst community, including identifying opportunities for Colleagues in line with future skill and resourcing requirements and sharing best practice approaches
* Risk: Continuously evaluates, programme/ projects for testing, financial and people risk and regulatory compliance and takes appropriate steps to mitigate.
