We have a dedicated focus on supporting foster children and foster carers in Scotland. Our primary aim is to give children and young people the opportunity to achieve their full potential and to live fulfilling lives in the community. Over the last years, we have cared for over children and young people.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
1. Support foster carers and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for all children and young people in foster care.
2. Support and monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster carers ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people.
3. Ensure that carers fully understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved and the standards expected, including complaints and representation procedures as detailed in the FCAS’ policies and procedures.
4. Provide and record regular supervision to allocated foster carers in line with FCAS’ Operational Standards.
5. Work in partnership in a team parenting approach to help identify any needs within the foster family, activities, therapy, holidays, with all members of the child’s network, including contributing to all relevant meetings and any other tasks defined.
6. Ensure each child and foster carer are fully compliant in respect of all key documentation.
7. Attend meetings and/or provide reports for Commissioning Teams to address individual packages of care.
8. Promote participation of children/young people in the development of the agency and in accessing resources and opportunities in their local community.
9. Participate in an ‘out of hours’ support service on a rota basis
10. Participate in day ‘duty system’ on a rota basis supporting referrals team
YOU MUST HAVE:
11. A Social Work qualification
12. Valid Social Work Registration or equivalent
13. Proven ability to produce a high standard of report writing
14. A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures
15. The willingness and ability to travel extensively (including occasional nights away)
16. Confidence with transporting children and young people in sometimes stressful/difficult situations
17. Full driving licence
