My Client is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor in the Water Sector
The Client provides complete "turnkey" projects, mechanical engineering services and process technologies to the water and wastewater, utilities, food and beverage, power, and industrial process industries. They are centrally located in the Bedford area of the UK, where the fabrication workshop and engineering design office is located.
Working as part of the projects team, your main responsibilities will be working with the Commercial Manager and Project Managers in managing project costs and value.
To assist with the delivery of successful projects in terms of:
1. Recording of site works for monthly applications (including assessing and agreeing applications from key subcontractors)
2. Cost recording and forecast updates
3. General contract management duties
Key Responsibilities:
4. Procure and administer sub-contract packages with support from the Commercial/ Contracts Manager and Project Managers.
5. Maintain project forecasts.
6. Measurement records for sub-contract works.
7. Update costs on a regular basis.
8. Assist Project Managers with cost and value reporting.
9. Work with and assist the project team with managing the requirements of the contract, notifications etc.
10. Assist Commercial Manager and Finance Manager with cashflow management and reporting.
11. Monitor project performance against budget and assist Project Managers and Commercial Manager with reporting variances.
12. Communicate commercial learnings throughout the business to improve performance and reduce duplication of errors.
Qualification and Experience:
13. Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
14. Relevant CSCS qualification
15. Full driving licence
16. Experience in a Contractor's organisation. Experience in a MEICA contracting organisation desirable but not essential.
17. Knowledge of NEC 3 & 4 contract conditions
