Interim Head of Estates\n\nNorth West London (Hybrid Working)\n6-Month Contract\n£830 per day (Inside IR35)\nMRICS (Essential)\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Interim Head of Estates to join a forward-thinking local authority in North West London. This is a pivotal leadership role within Property Services, with strategic oversight of estates operations and a clear mandate to deliver value, income, and high standards of service - all with a firm focus on putting residents first.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nProvide leadership and day-to-day management of the Estates team (4 direct reports) within Property Services, ensuring performance targets and service objectives are consistently met.\n\nLead the management of the Council's commercial and investment asset portfolio, driving income generation while maintaining and improving asset value.\n\nManage and oversee income from assets and debt, ensuring effective financial control and strategic planning.\n\nLead on rent reviews, lease negotiations, licenses and terms of occupation, ensuring favourable and compliant agreements.\n\nDeliver the Council's annual Asset Valuation Programme, working closely with finance and audit functions.\n\nOversee all surveying works undertaken on behalf of the Estates team, ensuring quality and efficiency.\n\nManage the Council's garage assets, addressing legacy issues and ongoing portfolio performance.\n\nTackle and reduce any backlogs in estates management, delivering improved responsiveness and compliance.\n\nEssential Skills & Experience:\n\nMRICS qualified - this is a mandatory requirement.\n\nProven senior-level estates management experience, ideally within a public sector or local authority context.\n\nStrong track record in asset management, income generation, and valuation programme delivery.\n\nExperienced leader with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop high-performing teams.\n\nCommercially astute with excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.\n\nStrong understanding of governance, compliance, and statutory obligations in estates management.\n\nIf you're a confident estates leader looking for a new interim challenge where you can make a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.Eden Brown is committed to equality in the workplace and is an equal opportunity employer.
