Job overview
NHS Coventry and Warwickshire ICB are looking for a Corporate Governance Officer to join the team on a permanent contract.
The post holder will support the Corporate Governance Manager across the range of corporate governance, information governance, risk management, board assurance and supporting other functions within the Governance team. This will include the day-to-day management of these operational processes and ensuring that the ICB maintains high standards of governance and that it complies with its statutory responsibilities and supporting the risk management process.
The post will be hybrid remote with an induction period in the offices in Coventry and Warwick with attendance at the offices thereafter as required by the role.

Main duties of the job
* Support the Corporate Governance Manager to deliver the Governance and Assurance framework for the ICB, ensuring that robust processes are developed and followed.
* Manage the operational process for updating the risk registers for the ICB, preparing summary documents as necessary for various Governing body meetings as required and support with System Risk Development.
* Manage the process for the regular review of all ICB policies, ensuring that the most up-to-date policies are communicated to staff along with their responsibilities to understand the policies, and to ensure they are available via the ICB intranet. Maintain the master files for the policies.
* Be the operational lead for managing conflicts of interest, including maintaining registers of interest, hospitality, gifts and sponsorship, procurement decisions and contracts and producing relevant reports.
* Lead on specific projects relating to Governance within the ICB; ensuring that they are delivered on time and within agreed costs and parameters.

Furthermore, they will consistently involve and consult with local communities to ensure the needs of our population are met.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Maintain appropriate project documentation and libraries for various governance projects.
* Co-ordinate and review external assessments, reports and compliance requirements for the ICB, preparing response documentation at the direction of the Corporate Governance Manager.
* Support the identification, assessment and implementation of improvement initiatives, ensuring that the correct tools and benchmarking data are accessible and utilised.
* Maintenance of the key corporate records.
* Provide ongoing support to the Corporate Governance Manager reporting required to support ICB assurance and compliance reporting.
* Provide support to other meetings, including taking minutes, as required.
* Working closely with the CSU Information Governance Consultant, support the process for the annual submission of the Information Governance Toolkit, ensuring that the relevant policies, staff training, etc. are in place to support the submission.
* Support the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) in the delivery of the overall Information Governance.

Education/Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Other Job Requirements
* Able to travel independently across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a Governance role within a public sector organisation.
* Ability to plan and manage a variety of tasks and projects ensuring delivery to time and budget.
Knowledge/skills
* Ability to take accurate and detailed minutes of complex meetings.
* Understanding of Corporate Risk management processes.
* Knowledge of MS Office suite, including Power-Point, Excel, Databases and Word.
* Previous experience of customer relations and working across organisations to solve problems.
* Previous experience of communicating complex matters and in difficult situations.
* Ability to analyse and interpret complex information, pre-empt and evaluate issues and recommend appropriate courses of action to address issues.
* Experience of delivering risk management training or similar.
* Experience of identifying and interpreting national policy and advising on policy implementation.
