The Role To provide leadership on all health and safety matters to minimise risks to the business, achieve compliance with legislation and customer requirements through efficient processes and engage staff throughout the business in achieving a positive health and safety culture. Responsibilities Leading the health and safety team (day-to-day line management, target setting and performance monitoring) Lead the integration of solar PV H&S responsibilities into our existing H&S team as we continue to expand this service. Reviewing key areas of H&S risks for the company and implementing processes to reduce these risks, gaining buy in from key decision-makers Ensuring we have efficient, effective procedures in place for all aspects of H&S management Ownership of all of the companys H&S documentation and H&S training materials to ensure they remain current and communicate key messages as engagingly as possible Monitoring and interpreting changes to legislation and leading on the implementation of cost-effective solutions that ensure the company remains compliant Driving key H&S and wellbeing initiatives, proactively promoting them and using influencing skills to engage key decision-makers Managing relationships with stakeholders, especially our house builder customers Representing the company at external meetings and events in an ambassadorial capacity Taking every opportunity to implement best practice, based on knowledge gained through reading articles and reports and attendance at meetings and events Providing reports to the Board of Directors as required (scheduled reports and incident-related if necessary) Requirements Qualifications and Experience: NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) Possesses or working towards Chartered Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health Significant experience of managing H&S at a senior level in the construction sector Skills and Competencies: A highly visible, charismatic and motivational leader Self-driven and results-oriented Skilled networker with experience of managing key stakeholders Strong business acumen People management skills and drive to coach and develop other H&S professionals Developer of systems and procedures that ensure business expectations are met and/or exceeded Strong communicator, including well-polished presentation and writing skills Benefits 28 days holiday increasing with service bank holidays Option to buy up to 5 further days holiday Company Car and fuel card Mobile phone Annual bonus scheme Company pension scheme Life assurance Discounted gym membership 24/7 free & confidential support helpline In-house wellbeing team Free on-site parking Refreshments and fresh fruit provided Early finish Fridays Summer & Christmas social events Our Values : Commitment | Change | Career Progression | Care | Collaboration Clarkson Evans is an equal opportunities employer and were proud of our fair and inclusive recruitment process.
