Job description: Our Head of Procurement has retired and as such we are seeking a new Head of Procurement to replace him. This role will be instrumental in further developing the procurement strategy and leading the Procurement team to optimise supplier performance. Key Accountabilities and Measures This role demands a leader with a deep understanding of how to deliver the Procurement Strategy through partnering with the Director for Supply Chain to define, review and evolve a procurement strategy that: Supports our business growth by delivering short, medium and long-term value opportunities (Cost, Quality, Innovation, Service) in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Reviews Policies including End to end purchase to pay policies, systems and procedures in the areas of category management, supply chain risk and commodity price management, innovation, business change and CI programmes. Leadership by motivating and coaching the procurement team to achieve business, department and personal development goals/targets set. Collaboration by developing collaboration between procurement, internal functions and suppliers to support delivery of cross function objectives. Essential Ingredients Leadership capability to lead a team and influence broad range of stakeholders Significant procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG business Experience of developing and delivering short/medium and long term procurement strategy Experience of developing strategic and key relationships with suppliers Significant people management experience, coaching and development of teams Full or part qualification in CIPS (desirable) Commercial Awareness: Can demonstrate a good understanding of the customer and their requirements / constraints Excellent communication skills: An excellent negotiator, influential and persuasive.
