2nd Line - Firewall Support Specialist

The role
We are looking for a Firewall Engineer to join our SDWAN Support team, to work on Project and delivery activities to support our prestigious central government customers. This role will join our growing team and lead the activities in the daily operation and support of our new service addition to the SDWAN portfolio. With lots of opportunity to widen your experience and exposure to multiple network technologies (including the industry's first SDWAN deployments within the UK's Secure Sector).
This would be a great opportunity for the right candidate to grow and develop technically in a team that is at the forefront of SD-WAN delivery.
Your experience
- firewall operations, the concepts of controlled changes and deployments to test and live services.
- firewall support, Cisco NG zone based IOS Firewall solutions.
- core WAN and LAN network solutions to support diagnosing network related faults.
Core Skills
• General Firewall build & configuration experience and troubleshooting.
• Cisco Zone Based firewalls
• Knowledge of application protocols
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS and Content filtering
• Knowledge/experience of High Availability solutions
• Routing experience.
• Incident management, problem and Change management.
• Ability to interpret design documentation and define rulesets according to design.
• Knowledge sharing and training peers.
• Collaborative working approaches.
Desirable skills
Juniper SRX firewalls
Ideally exposure to McAfee Sidewinder Firewall conversion to Juniper SRX Cisco ZBFW
