Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic registered health care professional, to be part of UHL's Simulation Team.
The post holder will be an integral part of the Simulation team working closely with UHL's Simulation Lead delivering Simulation training. The post holder will also be a supportive presence at clinical skills and resuscitation training events to offer expertise.
If you are an experienced Band 5 or existing Band 6 member of staff looking for a new and exciting opportunity within the Trust's Simulation service, then we offer full training and support to prepare you for the role.
Previous experience and knowledge of delivering teaching is preferred, however, full training in simulation delivery will be given to the right candidate.
Preferably, you should have experience working within an acute clinical environment and have broad clinical knowledge
Self-motivation and initiative are essential in this role, as is the ability to prioritise, multitask workload, maintain accuracy whilst meeting deadlines and deal calmly with changing priorities.
The job is well supported andprovides good opportunities to demonstrate initiative and willingness to take on responsibility in this dynamic role.
You must be keen to develop and teach new skills to all levels of staff.
An informal visit is encouraged, for you to fully appreciate the work of the department.
Main duties of the job
Plan, implement, provide and evaluate specialised simulation training programmes.
Research and design the underpinning components, best clinical practice and competency criteria, being ware at all times of statutory obligations and national strategies and their impact on service delivery.
Provide Simulation training, promoting and adhering to the principles of improving individual skills; handling of emergencies and human factors.
Actively contribute to the support of trainees and assessors within the clinical area to enrich the quality of their learning experience.
Actively contribute to the education and training of support staff acknowledging their growing contribution to the delivery of care in the clinical area.
Collate accurate education and training records in line with best practice and adhering to Trust guidelines.
Assist the UHL Simulation Lead and CMG Education Leads to identify appropriate Simulation training needs.
Support mentorship and facilitation for trainees encourage and promote multi-professional and inter-professional education and training cross boundary working as appropriate.
To line Manage / Mentor other members of the Clinical Skills team as requested by the Clinical Skills Unit Manager.
