What is the job?
Our Operators are essential to the supply chain, responsible for ensuring goods are manufactured safely, efficiently, and with high quality to deliver excellent service.
The shift pattern involves 4 days one week (Monday to Wednesday 6am - 6pm and Thursday 6am to 5pm) and 3 nights the next (Monday to Wednesday 6pm - 6am). Our shifts do not include weekends, and we are closed on bank holidays.
All operators must ensure manufacturing activities are conducted safely and maintain quality standards.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure all machines operate at correct cycle times with accurate information.
2. Maintain quality standards as set by the QC department.
3. Keep first and last-off samples, and collect quality samples for sign-off.
4. Complete tool changes safely, on time, and following procedures.
5. Ensure machines are in proper condition after tool changes and tools are correctly stored.
6. Complete production paperwork accurately and promptly, reporting issues to your line manager.
7. Support continuous improvement projects.
8. Liaise with Engineering for prompt resolution of machine issues.
9. Communicate effectively with the department head regarding production plans and changes.
10. Carry out manufacturing activities safely, avoiding product damage.
11. Accurately complete and submit production paperwork.
12. Monitor quality through hourly checks and report failures.
13. Maintain a clean, organized, and ready-to-run production cell.
14. Report damaged products and waste accurately.
