Role: Senior Electrical Estimator
Salary: Up to £90,000 + Car Allowance + Full Travel + Package
Client: Our client is a leading player in the London Construction market working across Major Commercial Schemes, Life Sciences and Data Centre Projects. They have also been involved in state-of-the-art sports centres across the UK. They have a strong team at various levels overseeing the full project life cycle and typically operate a 20 project model with 15 currently in Construction phase and 5 in Pre-Construction.
The successful candidate will be working on quality tender returns and the setup of new projects, this position will be in the estimation team. Office based, the successful candidate will be responsible for looking at the buildability of new projects and ensuring the deliverables of the project are set up for the handover to the operations team.
Responsibilities:
1. Analysis of Tender Documents including architectural and M&E Drawings/Specifications.
2. Deliver compliant tender returns.
3. Attend Tender Review meetings to understand what the target projects are.
4. Liaise with contractors and consultancies to understand what is being requested or asking to be priced.
5. Identify areas of risk in the install; assess if enough time has been allocated.
6. Look for areas to better buy/increase profit margins.
7. Focus on Project ‘Strategy’ and ‘Buildability’, producing a below-the-line schedule.
8. Attend site visits and tender adjudication meetings prior to tenders being submitted.
9. Assess internal & external risk, as well as client risk.
10. Lead strategy meetings on bid approaches.
11. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
12. Assess the risk levels associated with the project documenting best value at the tender stage.
13. Undertake take-offs of tender drawings and input data into estimation software.
14. Ensure all elements of the tender are accounted for prior to submission.
15. Stipulate cost reports considering the required mark-up.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will come from an estimating background and have a good grasp of M&E Services, sequencing, design, and installation. They should possess attention to detail within tenders and have experience working on large/mid-sized Commercial projects.
