Automotive Production Manager
Location: Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Igloo is seeking an experienced and proactive Automotive Production Manager to lead the workshop operations at our client s Upper Heyford site. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth running of all technical activities, maintaining high standards of quality and productivity, and delivering exceptional service to our client s customers.
The Role:
* Oversee daily operational planning for the technical department, ensuring all deadlines and targets are met.
* Monitor department efficiency and productivity, implementing control measures to improve output and quality.
* Manage stock levels, purchasing, and cost-effective repair methods, conducting regular stock checks.
* Organise and monitor equipment maintenance, calibration, and compliance with operating standards.
* Ensure compliance with all operating procedures and standards, addressing any audit findings effectively.
* Lead and manage complex projects, liaising with suppliers for materials and consumables.
* Provide regular communication to team members, promoting awareness of performance and expectations.
* Assess training needs and develop action plans to support team development.
* Maintain accurate manual and electronic records in line with organisational standards.
* Contribute to safety, housekeeping, and energy efficiency initiatives to meet company objectives.
The Person:
* Experience working in a busy body shop or production environment.
* Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* A focus on quality and a right first time approach.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel & Outlook.
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
* A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
