We are pleased to share details of a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our dedicated Cyber Security team based in Digital & Technology Services.
The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring all computer systems connected to the university network to identify known vulnerabilities, security breaches, potential weaknesses, unusual activity, and unauthorized or illegal activity.
You will assume responsibility for supporting the university's endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms and our security incident and event management (SIEM) platforms to identify and remediate user account or system compromises. You will use vulnerability management tools to detect security weaknesses and assist with the installation and testing of software and security updates. You will also assist in the production of information security best practices and work closely with the service management team to ensure consistent reporting and feedback of security-related incidents and problems. You will have a good understanding of SIEM and/or EDR solutions and knowledge of Windows/Linux administration and vulnerability management.
Your background will include a proven track record of contributing to security-focused projects and administering a range of desktop and server operating systems. You will have experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) for responding to malware incidents and be familiar with username and directory administration.
As the successful candidate, you will have a degree/professional qualification or equivalent relevant experience, ideally with an industry-recognized IT Security certification (desirable).
