The Fleet Management team is seeking to recruit passenger assistants to travel on our school transport service vehicles and offer support to the service users.
Passenger assistants will need to complete mandatory training and undertake a DBS check, all of which will be provided through the Council before they can go out onto the vehicles.
These casual roles will initially allow us to see how the role works in-house, with the possibility of regular shifts in the future.
You will need to be self-motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills, friendly of nature and character with a strong work ethic, flexible, and reliable. You will be expected to engage with the service users during the journeys between school and the agreed drop-off location to reduce distraction to the driver as well as keeping all service users calm and happy whilst being transported.

Relocation: For some vacancies (subject to criteria) a relocation scheme of up to £8,000 may be available if you are specifically relocating to the Isle of Wight to work with us, or if you choose to commute to the Isle of Wight daily, you may be eligible to have some travel costs reimbursed.
