About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled P6 Senior Planner to join our dynamic and fast-paced business unit in Wales, which is engaged in a variety of multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure projects. This is an exciting chance to contribute to essential civil engineering works across sectors such as rail, Environment Agency, and Local Authorities.
Business Unit Overview:
Our business unit is dedicated to delivering a diverse range of civil engineering projects, including bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, and tunnels. We handle both one-off tendered projects and long-term framework agreements with key clients across the Wales region. Our current contracts feature CP7 infrastructure projects, minor works, and Environment Agency frameworks, focusing on bridge reconstruction, upgrades, station works, and other civil structures.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a P6 Senior Planner, you will be responsible for developing and managing detailed and integrated project programmes using Primavera P6. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the successful delivery of project programmes while adhering to planning standards and client requirements.
* Contributing to project risk registers.
* Developing design and build programmes using P6 software.
* Maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to collect progress information for project updates.
* Continuously monitoring programmes to ensure they accurately reflect project progress and any changes.
* Providing regular status reports to the project delivery team, including early warnings and updates on change management.
* Identifying resource needs, material, and plant requirements for procurement.
Requirements:
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
* Prior experience as a P6 Planner or Senior Planner in a rail and civil engineering environment.
* Proficiency in Primavera P6.
* Experience in civil engineering projects, preferably with a focus on rail.
* A background in site-based roles, providing insight into construction activities, timescales, and project requirements, enabling you to build and update accurate programmes for ongoing projects.
