Township 2 PCN are looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team and support our member practices with the aim to improve the patients' access/experience in practice.
Main duties of the job
1. Using technical equipment to safely draw blood from patients.
2. Explaining the process of drawing blood clearly to a patient.
3. Reassuring and calming patients who might be nervous or scared of the procedure.
4. Keeping track of blood samples and results that are returning after testing.
5. Care coordination of services alongside our personalised care team.
6. Maintaining an organised and clean work area based on health and safety regulations and the guidelines of the medical practice.
7. Answering patient questions regarding collection techniques and offering additional resources on the collection process, if the patient requests them.
8. Input of general data and clinical information onto electronic patient records.
9. Manage own workload effectively within the practice clinic times.
10. Work as an integral part of the practice nursing team.
11. Comply at all times with relevant legislation, policy, and procedure.

We are Township 2 Primary Care Network (PCN), formed in 2019 and is a collaboration of five GP surgeries in Sheffield 12 and 13. By working together we are able to offer more services and also at a time that may be more flexible to our patients across the network.

Job responsibilities
Working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture, as requested by the clinical team, to the entitled patient population. In addition, the Phlebotomist will be expected to support the nursing team on an as-required basis.
The roles will involve care coordination of services, working alongside our personalised care team.
Township 2 PCN will ensure that the post holder has access to appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the organisation to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications
* Good standard of general education.
* Experience of working with the general public.
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
* Experience of working in a primary care environment.
