Role Details: Job Title: SEN PE Teacher Location: Leyland, Nr Preston, Lancashire Salary: M1 – M6 (dependent on experience) Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week) About the School Our client provides specialist education and therapeutic support for students aged 9-16 who face challenges associated with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The Role As an SEN PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality PE lessons within small class groups (no more than 8 students). You will also provide general KS2 teaching, ensuring students are supported in their learning and personal development. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the classroom. Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policies. Take an active role in safeguarding, promoting the welfare of students, and adhering to safeguarding and PREVENT policies. Provide leadership, support, and supervision for Assistant Teachers and Teaching Assistants, including conducting professional development reviews. Attend and contribute to teacher meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings, and staff training sessions. Ensure students receive a high level of personal care and well-being support, liaising with care staff, medical staff, and behaviour support teams as needed. What They’re Looking For: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, or equivalent). Experience teaching in either primary or secondary education. A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs, particularly SEMH and autism. Experience in curriculum planning and development for students with SEN.
