About You as Compliance Officer: Love Finance are seeking a dedicated and proactive Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring our business operates in full compliance with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations and other relevant legal frameworks. This is a critical role, supporting the continued growth and success of the firm by mitigating regulatory risks and ensuring that we meet all compliance obligations in a fast-paced environment. Role: Compliance Officer Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - Ideally full time in the office Location: Birmingham City Centre Salary: £34,000 to £60,000 per annum depending on experience The Role of the Compliance Officer: Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant FCA rules and regulations, as well as other applicable legal frameworks. Stay up to date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry best practices Policy & Procedure Development: Assist in the development, implementation, and regular review of compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure they are in line with regulatory requirements and best practices Compliance Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct regular compliance monitoring, audits, and reviews to identify potential risks or non-compliance. Prepare and submit internal and external reports to senior management, the FCA, and other regulatory bodies as needed Training & Awareness: Provide compliance training to staff at all levels to ensure they are fully aware of regulatory requirements and the company’s internal compliance policies Risk Management: Identify, assess, and report on compliance risks, advising senior management on risk mitigation strategies. Work closely with other departments to embed a risk-aware culture across the business Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the FCA and other regulatory bodies, handling regulatory communications and investigations Advisory Role: Advise senior leadership, business units, and other stakeholders on compliance-related issues, ensuring that decisions align with regulatory requirements KYC & AML Compliance: Oversee anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and other related compliance programs to prevent financial crime and ensure proper due diligence is carried out Incident Management: Investigate potential compliance breaches, ensuring timely resolution and reporting to relevant authorities when required Third-Party Oversight: Ensure that third-party relationships, including vendors and contractors, comply with relevant regulatory standards Experience of the Compliance Officer: At least 3-5 years of experience in a compliance role within an FCA-regulated financial services firm. Experience with consumer credit, loan brokering and lending is highly desirable Knowledge: Deep understanding of FCA regulations, including but not limited to the FCA Handbook, MiFID II and GDPR Personal Attributes of Compliance Officer: High integrity and ethics, with a proactive approach to compliance and risk management Solution-oriented and adaptable, with the ability to navigate a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape
