Job Description
We have an opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join a lovely childrens home in the Hinkley area, accommodating children with emotional and behavioural needs.
Working with the Registered Manager, you will support the team in this fantastic new home supportingchildren & young people who face risks around exploitation,by identifying and responding to harm and abuse posed to them outside of their home environment and understanding the importance of intervention. You will support up to 3 service users to experience opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social and emotional skills.
Main duties
You will build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
You will work in partnership and build relationships with parents, carers and other professionals.
* You will lead shifts and carry out staff supervisions.
* You will support the Registered Manager with audits of the home.
* You will contribute to the general upkeep of the home including daily activities such as cooking and cleaning.
* You will ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
* You will promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.
You will hold a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People or above, and will be willing to work towards Level 5. You will also have some experience of supervising staff within a similar environment, along with sound knowledge of OFSTED legislation.
