KASE Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Female Complex Healthcare Assistant to provide specialist care for a service user in Dunstable with a spinal cord injury and an acquired brain injury. The role involves supporting the individual with tracheostomy and ventilator care, suctioning, autonomic dysreflexia management, PEG feeding, diabetes management, catheter care, and moving & handling using a hoist.
This is a 12-hour shift role (days and nights), offering £13 - £16 per hour during a six-month probationary period. Successful candidates must be comfortable with dogs, as the service user lives alone with their pet. Full training and induction will be provided at our head office in Loughton.
Main duties of the job
* Tracheostomy & Ventilator Care: Perform regular suctioning and use cough assist as needed.
* Autonomic Dysreflexia Management: Monitor and respond to symptoms effectively.
* Moving & Handling: Assist with transfers using a hoist.
* Medication Administration: Manage and administer rig medication safely.
* Diabetes Management: Monitor blood sugar levels and respond accordingly.
* Specialist Feeding: Support PEG feeding and ensure proper nutrition.
* Catheter Care: Monitor and assist with catheter management.
* Personal Care & Hygiene: Assist with daily living tasks, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
* Meal Preparation & Support: Ensure the service user receives adequate nutrition.
* Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide a caring, patient, and reassuring presence.
