Employ a flexible and creative use of verbal and non-verbal communication approaches to communicate and enable the understanding of complex information relating to diagnosis, gaining consent, assessment and treatment. Manage a caseload, and plan, organise and where appropriate clinically supervise junior members of the team to ensure delivery of a high-quality service, meeting the complex and diverse needs of the identified population. Lead individual or group-based interventions. Adopt a person and family centred public health approach that will seek to reduce risk and enhance health through delivery of needs led high quality evidence-based care. Adapt, facilitate and delegate appropriate assessments in order to inform interventions to meet the health-related needs and risk reduction/management of the individual, their family and the environment. Offer evidence-based interventions which are adapted for young people. Where needs are beyond the remit of the role, they will make a referral to the appropriate service. Analyse the functions of challenging behaviours in complex situations within the individuals varying environments, in order to make recommendations where appropriate to inform future interventions. Identify the need for and facilitate referrals relevant to meeting the needs of the individual. Work in partnership with other health care providers, statutory, voluntary organisations and family/carers, to provide advice that promotes good health and well-being and prevents ill health of patients under the care of CAMHS. Develop and maintain a range of written information for children and young people, their families/carers, which is specifically designed with and for them. Contribute to Community Treatment Reviews or Community and Education Treatment Reviews where there is a risk of admission to psychiatric hospital for a child or young person.
