Job summary We are looking for a Respiratory Apprentice to join our excellent team at CUH Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Ely. The Respiratory Physiology team at the CDC work alongside the CUH Lung Function Department to provide a diagnostic service of respiratory function tests to both CUH outpatients and the local community via a Direct Access service for GPs. CDCs have been developed across the country with the aim of providing diagnostic testing to the patients closer to home and to reduce waiting times for the tests required. Therefore, the development of the CDCs brings new infrastructure and equipment to keep up with the demand. Pathways for GP access respiratory tests have been developed and are being implemented with high uptake expected. The respiratory service at the CDC offers a wide range of services including full pulmonary function tests (PFTS), reversibility, FeNO, spirometry, field walk tests and overnight oximetry. The post holder will be working full time within the respiratory service for the full training period. The apprentice will receive a minimum of 20% off the job training which will allow completion of e-learning, assignment writing and evidence collection, the other 80% will be on the job education where they will be expected to support service delivery under supervision.
