A large Civil Engineering Contractor with a £134million turnover are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work out of their Essex office overseeing projects in the home counties and London. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working for a company that has been established for over 30 years and will require a strong senior candidate with experience of NEC. The role will be responsible for estimating and controlling costs, ensuring that structures meet legal and quality standards.

* Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (negotiable for highly qualified candidates).

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview
* Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
* Preparation of valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation.
* Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
* Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
* Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts.
* Agreement of final accounts.
* Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
* Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
* Utilise the costing system.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements
* Relevant Industry Qualification
* General Civil Engineering experience
* Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
* Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and the ability to manage complex cost structures.
* Experience using CEMAR.
* Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications.
* Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate.
* Experience within a construction/engineering industry and commercial background.
