Job summary
We have a fantastic year-long opportunity for a senior therapist with significant clinical experience in Cardio-respiratory, Critical Care or Surgery, to undertake the clinical lead role supporting our Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists working in our CRIS Therapy Teams.
There is an operational component of the role in terms of facilitating flow and discharge within the Trust and ensuring that we deliver effective and efficient therapy services by competent and engaged clinicians. You will support with the transformation and modernisation of our services so that we meet the increasing demand through developing new ways of working, new models of care, or new roles.
You will be supported by the Therapy Manager for Occupational and Physiotherapy and you will work closely with other Clinical Leads within the therapies department.
Applicants should have an Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy Degree and current registration with the HCPC. They should have a Masters level qualification or be able to demonstrate that they are working at this level.
Applicants will need to have clinical, leadership and managerial experience and expertise, as well as an innovative approach to service development.
Main duties of the job
* To provide operational management and leadership and clinical support to staff
* To work as a highly skilled therapist within the clinical area using highly developed clinical reasoning skills, theoretical knowledge, and high practical experience to teach and support junior members of staff
* To work in collaboration with key partners, stakeholders and other service managers in the planning and delivery of therapy services
* In conjunction with the Therapy Lead for OT & PT, to develop team objectives and strategies for the therapy services. To implement operational procedures and protocols to ensure that team objectives are monitored and achieved.
* To deputise for the Therapy Lead for OT & PT as required.
* To ensure that all therapy services are planned, developed and evaluated in line with and in response to the current and projected local, Trust and any national priorities.
* The Trust is moving towards 7-day working and this post will be expected to participate in providing a therapy service across 7 days, including extended hours and weekend working.
