We are delighted to be working with a people-focused business in the professional services sector. They have a fantastic brand and, due to continued growth, are looking for the right person to lead the Business Development.
THE ROLE:
1. Formulating an effective sales strategy, identifying and generating new sales opportunities.
2. Developing sales leads, pitching the company's products and services, and converting prospects into customers.
3. Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, and new partnerships.
4. Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
5. Building relationships with new clients, identifying their needs, and creating product and service proposals to address these needs.
6. Maintaining and developing relationships with prospective clients.
7. Developing a depth of knowledge around our customers and industries.
8. Attending conferences and events to build relationships with prospective customers and uncover new leads.
9. Utilisation of the CRM system (HubSpot) to manage pipeline, progress opportunities, and deliver accurate sales forecasts.
10. Possessing a strong understanding of the company's services, the competition in the industry, and our methodology and positioning.
11. From identifying to onboarding, collaborating with the digital and client service teams to ensure the end-to-end process of the customer's journey is met.
12. The potential to grow the department and manage a business development team in the future.
THE CANDIDATE:
1. Sales & Business Development: Proven track record of success in exceeding sales targets, identifying, and closing new business opportunities. Strong understanding of sales methodologies.
2. Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
3. Communication & Presentation: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate value propositions effectively, both in presentations and written proposals.
4. Negotiation & Closing: Proven ability to negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
5. Market Research & Analysis: Ability to conduct market research, analyze data, and identify new market opportunities.
6. CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems to manage leads, track progress, and forecast sales.
7. Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, client services, digital) to ensure successful client onboarding and project delivery.
8. Leadership & Management (Potential): Strong leadership and management skills with the potential to lead a team in the future.
