The Role
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role will involve managing all aspects of cost control on a variety of projects, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
The role will see circa 3-4 days visiting sites with the other 1-2 days in the week, from the office base in South Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage two sites concurrently, with all project costs from inception to completion, ensuring budgets are met.
Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and procurement strategies.
Assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements.
Monitor project variations and assess cost implications.
Prepare valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
Work closely with project managers to ensure cost control and value engineering.
Identify and mitigate risks related to cost and contract management.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
About You:
Minimum 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software.
A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills.
Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB) preferred.
